Standards & Quality Assurance Framework

The CPDForge Professional Standards Institute

Setting the standard for professional development that can be defended, verified, and trusted.

The credentialing, quality assurance and standards framework operated by CPDForge (CPFPSI).

Why the Institute exists

Professional development has a trust problem.

Credentials proliferate. Standards are cited loosely. Training is generated, published, and forgotten — with no ongoing mechanism to verify that what it claims is accurate, that what it tests is meaningful, or that what it issues carries genuine weight.

The Institute exists to change that — not by adding another layer of paperwork, but by building quality assurance into the fabric of how professional training is designed, assessed, and maintained. Its governance framework monitors every published programme across its full lifecycle, not just at the point of creation. When content drifts from the standard it claims to reflect, the system identifies it, flags it, and corrects it.

Governance is not an audit event. It is an operating principle.

What a CPFPSI credential means

When a learner earns a credential from the Institute, it means three things.

The content was grounded

Developed against a curated, governed set of recognised standards appropriate to the subject matter. Citations are traceable, and standard-family integrity is enforced throughout — not just at headline level, but across every lesson, assessment, and artefact the learner encountered.

The assessment was rigorous

Assessment at practitioner, auditor, and leadership tiers is calibrated to test application and judgement, not recall. Applied exercises, scenario-based assessments, and — where appropriate — AI-assessed project assignments with human sign-off ensure what is tested reflects what the role actually demands.

The credential is verifiable

Every certificate carries a unique verification code and QR link. Anyone — an employer, a procurement officer, an auditor — can verify a credential publicly in seconds, with no account required.

Institute credentials are framed at Level 3 of the UK’s Regulated Qualifications Framework, equivalent to SCQF Level 6 and EQF Level 4 — giving UK, Scottish, and European context for professional and procurement purposes.

Three distinct roles, one trust stack

CPFPSI governs quality. It does not accredit itself. Accreditation and verification are provided independently by Core Compliant — so the roles never overlap.

Quality framework

A 14-criterion quality rubric

The Institute applies an explicit quality rubric to every grounded course and programme. Programmes that fail a criterion do not pass silently — findings are severity-ranked, surfaced to programme owners, and remediated, with a full audit log of what changed and why.

Publication is blocked only when a genuine standard-integrity defect is present. The gate is narrow, deliberate, and trustworthy.

Standards citation conformance and grounding provenance
Assessment cognitive calibration and command-word alignment
Scenario and context integrity in assessments
Lesson completeness and cognitive-load discipline
Hallucination and placeholder detection
Cross-family standard integrity across the whole programme

Sectors and standards covered

The Institute supports professional development and credentialing across compliance, health and safety, quality management, information security, environmental management, risk, governance, and continuous professional development — wherever professional practice is shaped by recognised international standards.

Programmes are grounded against curated reference sets drawn from the ISO management system family, internationally recognised auditing frameworks, professional practice standards, and sector-specific regulatory requirements. Active credential programmes include ISO internal and lead auditor pathways, Lean Six Sigma belt progressions, information security and data protection practice, health and safety management, environmental and ESG practice, and governance and anti-bribery compliance — with new programmes added as the catalogue grows.

Credential ladders — from awareness through to practitioner, auditor, and lead auditor — are built into the programme architecture, so professionals can progress along a recognised pathway within a single, coherent credentialing framework.

For employers and procurement teams

The Institute’s Evidence Pack provides a complete audit-ready record for any programme an organisation deploys — standards alignment, QA status, learner completion, assessment results, and credential verification in a single exportable document. Compliance reports, department and role-based training records, and procurement-readiness views are available directly through the CPDForge platform.

If you are evaluating training for regulated-industry procurement, ISO audit readiness, or supply-chain compliance obligations, the verification infrastructure is designed to give you what you need without the friction.

Verify a credential

Every CPFPSI credential can be verified publicly at any time. Enter a certificate reference number or scan the QR code on any issued certificate to confirm the holder, the programme, the issuing standard, and the date of award — no account, no request, no delay.

FAQ

Is the Professional Standards Institute a separate organisation?

No. The CPDForge Professional Standards Institute is the credentialing, quality assurance and standards framework operated by CPDForge. It is not a separate or external accrediting body — accreditation and verification are provided independently by Core Compliant.

How does CPFPSI relate to Core Compliant?

They are distinct roles. CPFPSI is CPDForge’s standards-governance and quality-assurance framework — it governs how programmes are grounded, assessed and maintained. Core Compliant is an independent accreditation and verification body that accredits the resulting programmes and credentials. CPDForge creates and delivers the learning, CPFPSI governs its quality, and Core Compliant accredits and verifies it.

What does a CPFPSI credential mean?

It means the content was grounded against governed standards, the assessment was rigorous and calibrated to test judgement rather than recall, and the credential is publicly verifiable — issued only after human subject-matter expert sign-off.

How are credentials verified?

Every credential carries a unique verification code and QR link. Anyone can verify the holder, the programme, the issuing standard, and the date of award publicly — no account, no request, no delay.

What level are the credentials framed at?

Institute credentials are framed at Level 3 of the UK’s Regulated Qualifications Framework, equivalent to SCQF Level 6 and EQF Level 4 — providing UK, Scottish, and European context for professional and procurement purposes.
